About Me

Katrina Miller, M.Ed., LDT, CALT-QI

I earned a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Directing and Design from Baylor University in 1989. After several years working in broadcasting, I returned to school in 1993 to obtain my teacher certification from Texas Woman’s University and began teaching at the elementary level in Dallas. When my own children were diagnosed with learning differences, including dyslexia and autism spectrum disorder, I became deeply committed to understanding and supporting exceptional learners. This personal journey led me to transition from the general education classroom to a more specialized role.

I trained in academic language therapy through LEAD, Inc. in Dallas and became a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) in 2013. I have been a licensed dyslexia therapist in Texas since 2017. I also hold a master’s degree in Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University, which I earned in 2016.

From 2012 to 2021, I served as a dyslexia specialist in Keller ISD, where I supported students and collaborated with educators to strengthen dyslexia services. In 2018, I began working alongside Ruth Ann Jewell of Jewell Educational Services to provide dyslexia training to educators across Texas. Upon her retirement in 2021, I stepped into a leadership role and completed my certification as a Qualified Instructor (QI). I now train teachers to become Certified Academic Language Practitioners (CALP) and Certified Academic Language Therapists (CALT), continuing the mission of equipping educators to serve students with dyslexia and related disorders.
